Rock cult followings

Some rock bands becoming cults. The Cure, Beastie Boys, Red Hot Chili Peppers, etc... Who will return with the Rock'n'roll Hall of Fame 2012?
The temple of rock has revealed its list of nominees for 2012. This museum located in Cleveland, Ohio (United States) that logs the most significant moments of the greatest rock bands, will next year host five to seven new artists. These are only eligible 25 years after their first album. The 1000 selected experts (journalists, academics, producers) can choose for this 27th edition from Beastie Boys, Small Faces, Guns N 'Roses, Donna Summer, Eric B & Rakim, Physiotherapy North Sydney,  Donnovan, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Heart, The Cure, Laura Nyro, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, Rufus and Chaka Khan, The Spinners War, or Freddie King. Who will succeed, among others, Neil Diamond and Alice Cooper? A brief view of the contenders:

Guns N'Roses

This is the first time the band is named Axl Rose. They just get old enough; their debut album ‘Appetite for Destruction’ was released in 1987. An album which at that time sold 30 million copies in the United States. It is considered by many as the best album. The audience remembers including Welcome to the Jungle, Sweet Child O'Mine or Paradise City.

Small Faces

It is very much seen as a symbol of musical movement, social and London Mods, like the Who. The band broke up in 1978 as a result of market failures and ventures into Kit Homes Australia.

Red Hot Chili Peppers

The group was appointed two years ago but their name had finally been unsuccessful. Their first album The Red Hot Chili Peppers released in 1984 will not be remembered. The audience particularly noted the excellent Blood Sugar Sex Magik, Californication or Stadium Arcadium. Still active, the band released their tenth album last August I'm With You.
Donna Summer

It has become a myth of disco music of the 70 and 80 with over 130 million albums sold worldwide. Her hits Love to Love You Baby and I Feel Love were re-made again and again by other great artists. Recently she released the single To Paris With Love.
Beastie Boys
This New York group is one of the oldest hip hop groups. But they started their career in the hardcore punk compilation by participating in the New York Trash published in 1979. Their eighth album Hot Sauce Committee Part Two was released in April 2011, after writing a tender.

Eric B & Rakim
Just eligible, the American hip hop group released their first album in Full Paint in 1987. Moreover, many consider it one of the greatest albums in the history of hip hop. The band broke up in 1992, while recording their latest album Do not Sweat The Technique.
The Cure

The Cure is a British rock band in the musical icy, melancholic and psychedelic domain. It has a well defined identity, which has inspired many artists such as Placebo, The Smashing Pumpkins and filmmaker Tim Burton. We will retain the title Boy's Do not Cry, and Lullaby Friday I'm in Love.
Donovan
Scottish musician with incredible talent as a melodist, he worked with big names. Donovan has worked on the design of the tube Submarinedes Beatles Yellow and done some John Lennon and George Harrison.
